Who we are
We are a group of experienced BACP registered counsellors in Brighton and Hove and we work in the whole of the surrounding Sussex area.
We offer Therapy in Sussex; and group therapy, and individual counselling with a counsellor in Hove; and we also offer one to one counselling in Brighton and most surrounding areas.
We offer home visits for 1-1 counselling within the central Brighton & Hove town centre and also in Peacehaven locations only.
These home visit appointments are available within day time hours for clients who have difficulty getting into our work premises which are based near to Seven Dials in central Brighton and Hove. This part of our service would work particularly well for all ranges of clients - from older age group clients, and for those experiencing ill health or mobility issues, in particular.
The cost of these sessions have to be slightly higher than our usual cost due to the extra travel time and fuel costs involved in this service but there is still a sliding rate of fees available.
Please ask us about the details for these sessions and to check the eligibility of area availability covered by the therapists email@example.com
We also offer clinical Supervision for Counsellors and trainee counsellors, and to all other professionals who require Supervision as part of their ongoing practice.
Sessions usually run for between 50mins - 1.5 hours which is BACP's minimum monthly minimum requirement for counsellors. There is some reduction of fees for counsellors in training so please ask us.
We also offer group supervision for Counsellors in training, in a group of 3 or 4, for 1.5hrs to 2hrs each paying £20
We create and facilitate personal development and continuing professional development (CPD) workshops in Brighton & Hove and Sussex and can tailor training to your individual specification. Please ask us for details.
We offer training on Anger, Suicide and working with this in therapy; Childhood Sexual Abuse; Emotional Resilience; as well as offering Counselling and Communication skills training workshops,
Please ask us for details and costs of this part of our service.
We are all registered and/or Accredited members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) &/or on BACP Register and adhere to their ethical framework. Each of us as a counsellor, work from either a Person Centred or humanistic perspective in our counselling sessions. This means that we believe that you are the expert on your own experiences, not us and you know what hurts and what you want to bring into sessions and we will be alongside.
We are all psychotherapists/counsellors in Brighton and Hove with a wide range of experience and we will work with any issue in general counselling that you bring into sessions. We have particular experience working with the following:
Personal relationship issues, Domestic Violence (women only), Couple Counselling; Anxiety; Childhood Sexual Abuse; Loss and Bereavement; Depression including post-natal depression (PND); Anger and Anger Management; Suicide and Suicide bereavement; issues that affect people diagnosed with mental illness or with physical illhealth including cancer.
Our appointments/session times last for between 50 minutes to 1 hour 25 minutes and usually happen once a week at the same time but we can do sessions more frequently if you require.
We recommend booking an initial 6 sessions to allow the relationship to build up. We can then review to see how it is going for you and what further sessions you choose to book, this is your choice
Sessions can be time limited to an agreed certain number of sessions, or be open-ended and ongoing to suit your needs, again it is your choice.
We work in the daytime, evening and weekends. We mainly see people in counselling rooms near Seven Dials, a central location in Brighton and Hove.
We can also offer some telephone and internet-based counselling or skype sessions. These need to be paid for prior to the session by direct bank payment or via paypal.
We offer Clinical Supervision, both individual 1-1, and group, to Counsellors and other professions who require outside supervision for their practice. These sessions follow BACP's Guidelines and so would normally be for one and a half hours per month for qualified therapists. For trainees this may be more frequent depending on the training course ratio requirement
Appointments for Supervision are available in the day, evenings and Saturday. We offer a sliding rate of fees of between £45-£55 per hour with some concessions available for counsellors in training. Please ask us.
We charge for sessions on a sliding scale based on what you can afford to pay, as we feel it is important to offer client's as much accessibility to counselling as possible.
We have three levels of fees:
- £45 - £60 full price
- £35 - £45 concessions
- £30 low-cost (there are now very limited spaces available at this level. July 2017)
We offer an initial 30 minute session for £10* where you can meet with a counsellor, ask us questions and explore whether counselling is right for you.
* Current cost July 2017
